PRIVATE GUITAR LESSONS

Develop the playing that's already yours

You know more than you think. My lessons start with what you can already play and build from there. Rather than following a predetermined curriculum, we'll use your own playing, interests, and musical questions to figure out what you need to learn next.

Whether we're working on the fretboard, improvisation, harmony, technique, rhythm, repertoire, or composition, the goal is the same: to help you hear more, explore more, and play with greater freedom.

How lessons work

We start by playing

Bring in a song, an improvisation, something you're writing, something you've been practicing, or just pick up the guitar and see what happens.

We'll listen to what you're already doing and use it to find the next thing worth exploring. That might lead us to harmony, technique, rhythm, fretboard knowledge, ear training, repertoire, improvisation, or composition.

You don't need to master something between every lesson. Wherever your playing is that day is where we begin.

WHO ARE THESE LESSONS FOR?

I work with curious guitarists from a wide range of musical backgrounds—from newer players building their foundation to experienced musicians looking for new ways forward.

You might already know quite a bit about guitar, but still feel like there's a gap between what you know and what you can actually do with it. You don't need to play a particular style or arrive with a certain amount of theory. What matters is that you're interested in making more music with what you already know, understanding the instrument more deeply, and exploring where your playing can go next.

Maybe you:

  • Know chords and scales, but struggle to connect them across the fretboard or turn them into music.

  • Can improvise, but lose your footing when the harmony starts moving.

  • Write songs or make your own music, but want more tools to develop the ideas you're already hearing.

  • Feel stuck in familiar shapes, patterns, or habits and want to explore the instrument more freely.

  • Are newer to guitar and want to build a strong foundation while making real music from the beginning.

Bring what you know, what you're working on, or even what you're stuck on. We'll start there.

ABOUT PRAWIT

I'm a guitarist, composer, and educator based in New York City. I hold a BFA in Jazz Studies from The New School and an MM from NYU, and my work as a performer and composer moves between jazz, folk, improvisation, and original music.

I've taught guitarists with a wide range of backgrounds and goals, from newer players building fundamentals to professional and aspiring musicians developing their improvisation, composition, and personal approach to the instrument.

My teaching is informed by my work as a performing musician, but lessons are always centered around your music and your goals.
